What started as hobby during the dark days of COVID, has gradually turned into a passion for us. So much so, that now before we travel anywhere, hours are spent studying the birds of that area, identifying any specific areas and of course, ensuring we carry our kit.
We call ourselves early birders, because that is who we are !
The Bird Talkers website is born out of our desire to showcase the remarkable diversity of birds and the various habitats we've explored, all through the lens of our own photography. While our primary focus revolves around birds, our collection extends to the enchanting realms of animals, flowers, fungi, insects, and anything else that brings joy to our hearts.
The purpose of the Bird Talkers website is to highlight the wonderful diversity of birds and habitats that we have visited, using our own photographs. While our focus remains ‘birds’, we have captured other beauties such as animals, flowers, fungus, insects…. Basically, anything that brings a smile to our faces.
Since we started birding, we have captured over 500 different bird species, which you will find on this website along with over 1,800 photographs of different birds. We have also created a blog, where we try and capture our travel experiences and along with these experiences, we talk about the journey, where we stayed, names of the guides who accompanies us and importantly the flora and fauna we encountered.
India is home to around 1,350 bird species, which represents approximately 12.40% of global bird diversity. Of these 1about 78 or 5% are endemic to the country. Compare this with the estimated 18,000 species of birds worldwide ….. we have miles to go before we can put our cameras down.
While most of our journey has been within the boundaries of India, you will find pictures of flora and fauna taken during our visit to Australia, Scotland, England, Kenya and Sweden.
Our primary mission is to have fun and in doing so, we would like to create a vibrant platform to share experiences, exchange knowledge and celebrate the diverse beauty of our avian friends. From captivating bird photography to sharing experiences, we invite you to explore the wonders of the avian world with us.
